Hi! My name is Angelica and this is my EDCI 336 website. I am 19 years old, and this is my fourth semester at UVic. I have lived and grown up here in Victoria, British Columbia, and am grateful to live, work, and learn on the land of the Songhees and Esquimalt Peoples.

Throughout my entire life, I have always been passionate about dancing. I started dance classes at the age of 3, and began competing at the age of 7. I have trained in jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, tap, lyrical, contemporary, acro, and hiphop. Most recently, my focus has been on hiphop, and in 2024 I was selected to join Team Canada and compete at the IDO World HipHop Championships in Skopje, North Macedonia. My team ended up bringing home first place in the Adult Formations category. Since then, I have been training at a hiphop studio in Victoria, and am a part of the UVic dance team.

In the past 2 years, I have taken an interest in teaching dance. I have taught a few classes, and have choreographed a few routines, and hope to further my experiences in teaching dance. In the future, I hope to incorporate dance into my teaching career in meaningful ways!
